Why this exists

Every adult regularly faces high-stakes decisions that hinge on documents they don't have the expertise to fully understand: is this lease fair? is this raise actually good? is this contractor ripping me off? The professional answer costs $150–$500 and takes a week. The free answer (Reddit, ChatGPT, a friend) is generic and non-specific. We built MarkupAlert to be the third option: specific, fast, cheap, with a clear verdict and a copy-paste script you can actually use.

How it works

1. You paste or upload your document (or fill in a few fields for tools like SalaryCheck).
2. We pay Stripe $9.99 on your behalf (one-time, no account, no card saved).
3. Claude — Anthropic's AI — reads the document with a specialized prompt tuned for your use case.
4. You get a structured report with a verdict, specific dollar amounts, and a script you can send or say.

Your document is never stored. It's sent to Claude for the one analysis, the result is returned, and that's the end of the lifecycle. We don't train on it, we don't sell it, we don't resurface it. Same goes for any uploaded files.

What this is not

MarkupAlert is a decision-support tool, not a substitute for a licensed professional. For contracts with meaningful legal exposure, insurance policies for high-value assets, or comp negotiations that could move six figures, you should also talk to a human expert. We're the sanity check that catches what you'd otherwise miss — not the final word.
